Legislative Session Has Begun, Now What?

| February 6, 2025

The 84th Legislative Session is underway, which means it’s time for Nevadans to pay attention before we end up with more red tape than a Vegas wedding chapel on Valentine’s Day.

The Bill Tracker: Because the Devil is in the Details

Ever wonder what your elected officials are doing up there in Carson City? That’s why Nevada Policy’s Bill Tracker exists. We break down the bills that matter most to you.

This isn’t some boring government website full of legalese that makes your eyes glaze over. Our Bill Tracker gives you the straight-up facts:

  • What the bill actually does (not what the politicians say it does)
  • How will this affect you (because trust us, some of these proposals will make your wallet cry)
  • Where does it stands (is it moving forward, dying in committee, or being held hostage by a power-hungry chairperson?)

Some bills will protect your rights. Some will strangle them with bureaucratic nonsense. Either way, you need to know what’s happening before it’s too late.

The Action Center: Because Complaining on Facebook Won’t Change Anything

We get it—yelling at the TV or ranting on social media feels cathartic. But it does absolutely nothing to stop bad policy. That’s where our Action Center comes in.

This is your one-stop shop for civic engagement. It helps you:

  • Find your representatives
  • Email them directly (so they hear from actual Nevadans, instead of just lobbyists)
  • Make your voice count

Politicians count on you staying silent so they can do whatever they want. Don’t give them that luxury.

Speak Up, Nevada

Let’s say you’ve checked out the Bill Tracker and used the Action Center, but you’re still thinking, What now?

That’s why we created Speak Up Nevada: How to Be Heard in the Legislative Session—a crash course in getting the attention of the people who make the rules.

You’ll learn:

  • How to testify at a legislative hearing
  • The best ways to contact lawmakers
  • How to rally others to join the fight

Get Involved or Get Steamrolled

Bad bills don’t just pass because politicians support them—they pass because regular Nevadans don’t show up to stop them.

Don’t let that be you. Track the bills, act, and speak up.
