Majority of Sunset Station Workers Want Out of Union

Just five years after employees at Henderson’s Sunset Station voted to join the Culinary Union, a majority of members no longer want to be represented by the union.

Officials with the local casino operator said this week that they had withdrawn recognition of the union as an authorized bargaining representative.

The union and Station Casinos have long had an acrimonious relationship, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Similar decertification efforts occurred at Boulder and Palace Stations in 2020, and the company said then that it would not recognize the union as representatives of those workers.
